Finland

day 6
We returned our rental car and flew back to Helsinki. We stayed in an apartment close to the ferry dock for our trip to Estonia, as well as close enough to walk to a modern area of downtown Helsinki.
After we arrived and got settled in our apartment, we walked around and shopped in Helsinki. It was a drizzly evening, but we felt it was a safe area to walk and enjoyed the brick roads and paths, some of which even had cute bicycle routes indicated by custom stone in the sidewalks.
The roads were clear of snow and ice and the scenery was different than up north. We found a couple mall areas and the kids enjoyed shopping and comparing stores to ones we have back home. A Viking restaurant called Harald grabbed our attention for dinner. We enjoyed our meal while the kids sported Viking hats.
Although there was much more to see in Helsinki, we didn’t have enough time on this trip to give it the full attention it deserved.
A great dinner at the Viking restaurant
